Role

Fulham Pier is seeking a meticulous and proactive Head Storeman to oversee the management of all storage and inventory operations. This pivotal role ensures that supplies are effectively organised and readily available to support high-profile events, including match days and functions catering for up to 25,000 covers. The Head Storeman will ensure accurate stock control, maintain efficient handling procedures, and work collaboratively with culinary, front-of-house, and operational teams to ensure smooth operational support.

What you’ll do:

Stock Management and Organisation:

  • Maintain precise records of stock levels, ensuring adequate supplies of ingredients and equipment are available for both match day and non-match day events.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring all items are handled correctly and stored safely.
  • Implement and enforce efficient stock rotation procedures to minimise waste and maintain quality.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Develop and maintain efficient systems for storage layout, ensuring quick access and retrieval of stock.
  • Liaise closely with suppliers, chefs, and other team members to coordinate timely deliveries and anticipate stock requirements.
  • Assist in the development of procedures to improve operational workflows and streamline logistics.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all storage areas are clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper handling of food and materials, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on compliance requirements, including temperature checks and stock traceability. 

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and motivate the stores team, delegating tasks effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on stock handling and safety procedures.
  • ⁠Collaborate with various departments to meet operational needs and address any supply chain challenges

What you bring:

  • ⁠Proficiency in stock management software and basic IT systems for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Proven experience in inventory or store management, ideally within the food or hospitality sector.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage stock for high-volume operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and stock rotation practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
